For the May 16, 2023 UWC Monthly Luncheon we are pleased to be meeting at the Circulo de Gendarmería, Paraguay 970. Those who wish to participate on Zoom are also welcome.

Our invited speaker is The Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, Aleksandra María Piatkowska, and the title of the talk will be "Poland's Response to the Russian Invasion of Ukraine”. Her CV can be viewed by clicking here.

Abstract of the talk, submitted to us by the Ambassador: As a result of the Russian aggression against Ukraine, the post-Cold War order fell apart like a house of cards. The era of geopolitical naivety gave way to the era of geopolitical realism. My country has been warning the rest of the world about Russia's neo-imperial territorial ambitions for years. So…. should Poland feel threatened? Do we have the right to help Ukraine? Is neutrality possible in the 21st century against the threat of war?
