On Tuesday April 9th, an ensemble of nine musicians from the “Orquesta de los Barrios” directed by Nestor Tedesco entertained the public at the Museo Historico Nacional, Defensa 1600. The occasion was the inauguration of a valuable Precolombian art collection donated by the Fundación García Uriburu. Among the guests were relevant national authorities, such as Pablo Avelluto, Minister for Culture, who showed interest in Nestor Tedesco ́s project. After playing several pieces, the young musicians interpreted the National Anthem, thus opening a very touching ceremony in a very special way. We definitely advise our members to visit this museum, which has now been enriched through the generosity of Azul García Uriburu, daughter of the great and multifaceted artist Nicolás García Uriburu, by over 1000 pieces which he collected along his life.
