Melodye’s topic will be “Evolution Revealed: The Galapagos Islands,” affter her recent visit to this incredible archipelago in early May. This event will be a Zoom only gathering, as she will speak from Montana, USA.

Melodye asks us to join her on a captivating expedition to the mesmerizing Galapagos Islands, where we delve into its intriguing history, awe-inspiring wildlife, and the critical challenges it faces amidst a changing climate. In this talk, we embark on a virtual voyage through time, tracing the footsteps of Charles Darwin and exploring the islands' remarkable role in shaping evolutionary theory. We'll marvel at the diverse array of iconic species, from giant tortoises to blue-footed boobies, and unravel the delicate ecological balance that makes the Galapagos a living laboratory of biodiversity. However, as climate change threatens this unique paradise, I will also discuss the conservation efforts and sustainable practices that are required to safeguard the future of this natural wonder. Together, we'll gain an understanding of the Galapagos' significance. and a desire to help preserve our natural wonders on this planet.
