French Conversation for Beginners and Fluent Speakers

In April we will be talking about “la condition féminine” in very broad terms - and not necessarily about “feminist perspectives,” which have produced a certain fatigue, lately, especially due to continuing debates involving linguistics and “gender neutral or gender inclusive” vocabulary and grammar.

Below are two articles, one relating to “gender fatigue” as described above, the other to women’s legal, social, and cultural conditions in Morocco. Please don’t be taken aback by the apparent length of this article, 13 fright-inspiring pages. There are quite a few photographs, and you can chose to simply read a “chapter” - the article is nicely “sectioned.” Each participant will choose their contribution to the discussion freely, from their own experience, or from a particular point of view, not necessarily related to either article - their lecture is intended to help with vocabulary.
