Luncheon: Becoming Visible, The Story of St Brigid and the Role of Irish Women in Public Life and Literature

  • Zoom Virtual Platform and ESSARP, Esmeralda 672, 7th Floor CABA Argentina (map)

Below is the recording of the presentation:

Ambassador O’Halloran will reflect on the life and legend of Saint Brigid, one of Ireland’s three female patron Saints whose feast day on 1 February will become a National Holiday in Ireland next year. The talk will consider how the Saint’s story parallels that of the restoration and recognition of the role of Irish women in public life in Ireland, including the women who played an active part in our struggle for independence, and also in our culture and our literature. The Ambassador will be pleased to respond to questions from the audience about the theme of the speech or other issues relating to Ireland.
