Women - The Invisible Migrants
with guest speaker Erica Usher

UWC members and guests meet via Zoon to listen to a guest Speaker present a topic relevant to the theme of the year.
The speaker for our first luncheon this year is Erica Usher, now a consultant in international migration policy and management issues and formerly a senior diplomat in the Canadian Foreign Service. In her talk, Erica will touch on some of the issues facing women migrants along with the challenges and opportunities before them.
Erica Usher retired after 35 years in the Foreign Service as a senior diplomat for the Government of Canada. She is currently providing editorial policy advice for the International Organization for Migration’s “Essentials of Migration Management 2.0” handbook and training program. She was previously seconded by the Government of Canada to that organization as Senior Policy Advisor, where she helped to create the Migration Policy Research and Communications Department, and was appointed Head of Strategic Policy and Planning. Her high-level expertise has involved her in many global initiatives and taken her to many countries.
