Spanish Through Experience is pleased to announce a talk by our member Zelfa Silva on “Un Viaje Inolvidable: Rusia con el tren Transiberiano, Armenia con sus iglesias, y Grecia con Santorini y Atenas.”
Objetivos de la charla:
Ø Poner en evidencia la necesidad de prestar atención a nuestras emociones.
Ø Comprender el impacto del COVID 19 sobre la vida emocional de las personas.
Ø Identificar la psicodinámica de los síntomas emocionales: cuáles son consecuencia de la cuarentena y cuáles de la pandemia.
Ø Ideas fuerza para sostener nuestra fortaleza emocional.
Isabel Vaz Ferreira es un miembro del grupo Equipo Aero, de Diseñadores Industriales UBA, organizados para ayudar los Personal de Salud durante esta pandemia de COVID-19. Juntos desarrollaron Aerosol Box, un recinto transparente que aísla la cabeza del paciente y retiene las partículas que pueda expulsar de sus vías aéreas. Éstos, son recintos que se utilizan en la intubación de pacientes y previenen la aerosolización del ambiente, protegiendo al Personal de Salud. Isabel y su equipo fabrican y donan equipamiento médico para proteger y disminuir el riesgo de contagio del Personal de Salud. Ya llevan abastecidos 70 Hospitales. Ella va a explicar cómo su grupo se unió, desarrolló el diseño e hizo que el proyecto se concretara.

Spanish through Experience will meet on October 29 at 3pm when the topic will be Multiculturalism.
We have a guided visit to the picturesque Yrurtia Museum in Belgrano (O'Higgins and Blanco Encalada streets) on Thursday August 29 at 3pm, where we will see the work of the famous sculptor Rogelio Yrurtia and the beautiful paintings of his wife, Lía Correa Morales, besides the decoration of the colonial house and garden themselves. Morales was a talented painter who, when her husband passed away donated their home which is now a museum.
Alicia Magide, our “resident UWC Actor,” will give a short presentation on the history of the theater and then perform a Monologue by Griselda Gambaro.
The next meeting of Spanish Through Experience will be a visit on Friday June 21 at 3pm to the beautiful St. Saviour's (San Salvador) Anglican Church on Crámer 1816, a Monumento Histórico Nacional in the neighborhood of Belgrano.

“Anthropology as Everyday Practice” Dear UWC Members, Spanish through Experience will hold its first meeting on Monday, April 8th at 3 pm with reflections by an anthropologist on the mundane, the funny, as well as the "non-exotic" aspects of research and practice in this field.
The first meeting of Spanish through Experience will take place on Wednesday April 3rd at 3pm at the home of María Antonia Gandolfo, with whom we will analyze short stories by the well-known Argentine writer Pedro Mairal.
