Event Announcement

Mrs. Dalloway, a classic of British literature, opens with a statement that could have been written during the current Covid19 pandemic: "Mrs. Dalloway said she would buy the flowers herself " (as domestic help is not available now). It seems the novel is one of the most popular reads of the quarantine. The themes of friendship, love, regrets and death are eternal, yet the way in which Woolf portrays these topics is unique. Through a series of interior monologues, she introduces us to her charmingly flawed characters as they prepare for a party.

We will discuss the movie version of the book. It is not necessary to read the novel unless you want to.

Those wishing to join us, should RSVP at uwcstudygroups@gmail.com. Participation will be limited to 20 Members.

Confirmed attendees will receive the Zoom link in advance of the meeting.

Prior to the Zoom meeting, please view the 1997 edition of the movie with Vanessa Redgrave on YouTube.
