UWC Meets Teatro Colón: “La Bohème” music by Puccini

At this first 2022 meeting of UWC Meets Teatro Colón, Elena Levin will analyze the role of the female character in Puccini’s La Bohème. Female roles to be discussed are as a mother, lover and main character — within a psychological as well as a historical context. lt will be a ninety minute activity.

This Activity will meet once a month on the second or third Monday of the month and is limited to six or seven participants. The operas featured follow the program of the Teatro Colon. They are : “La Bohème”, music by Giuseppe Verdi; “El Cónsul”, music by Gian Carlo Menotti; “Nabucco”, music by Giacomo Puccini; “L’elisir d’amore”, music by Gaetano Donizetti; “Los Siete Pecados Capitales”, music by Kurt Weill; “El Castillo de Barbazu”, musica de Béla Bartók; “Los Pescadores de Perlas”, music by Georges Bizet; “Tosca”, music by Giacomo Puccini.
