To kick off the 2024 season of the UWC Continuing Education series, we are delighted to have one of our new members, Cherie Joy Wolter, speak about her work and passion in the area of health and wellbeing. The talk will take place on Thursday, March 21, at 3pm in Palermo (details provided upon your RSVP).
The title of her talk is:
Beyond Meditation: A Mindful Lifestyle for Health and Wellbeing
Cherie will discuss what mindfulness is and how we can integrate mindful practices into daily life beyond meditation. For those of you who have attended previous Cont. Ed talks, you will recognize this is a theme that we have visited before, with Myrta Lange and Liz Power Hawkinson, and one that I think we will all enjoy revisiting, considering the stressors of modern life!
Cherie holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has worked to promote health and wellbeing at the personal and institutional level for the past 35 years. She was a project manager for the UW Hospital and Clinics before founding Joyspace Now health coaching services in 2019. She is also an avid public speaker and gives talks on a wide range of lifestyle themes for women including personal transformation, healthy aging, healthy eating, meditation, mindfulness, anxiety management, and relationships. She has been living in Buenos Aires since 2016, and has been active locally in promoting wellness, including starting a jump rope business.
